SHOWLINK / LCL Ocean Freight
Shared container space.
A plan built for your cargo.
LCL consolidation from China for commercial shipments that do not need a dedicated container, with transparent origin and destination scope.
Understand the service
What this service means for your shipment.
LCL means less than container load. Your consignment shares container capacity with other cargo. It is a useful option for smaller ocean shipments when the consolidation schedule and handling requirements suit the goods.

Customer fit
When to consider this option.
- Importers placing smaller replenishment orders.
- Trading companies shipping mixed commercial goods.
- Businesses comparing ocean consolidation with air or express.
Service scope
Agree the full movement, not just one leg.
- Cargo collection or receiving at the agreed origin facility.
- Consolidation and ocean transport under the confirmed booking.
- Destination deconsolidation and release responsibilities.
- Optional onward delivery subject to the quoted scope.
Cargo preparation
Start with the actual cargo.
- Provide the dimensions and gross weight of every packing unit.
- Confirm whether cartons or pallets can be stacked.
- Use export-ready packaging appropriate for repeated handling.

From inquiry to delivery
A practical sequence for your shipment.
01 · Share the shipment
Send origin, destination, product description, packing details and cargo-ready date. Include your required delivery date if there is one.
02 · Compare the plan
Review transport options, quoted scope, indicative schedule, destination charges and the responsibilities of each party.
03 · Prepare & book
Confirm the selected offer, documentation, pickup arrangements and any cargo-specific requirements before booking.
04 · Move & coordinate
Follow agreed shipment milestones and coordinate customs and the receiving appointment where required.
05 · Complete delivery
Confirm delivery status and retain shipment documents. Raise any discrepancy promptly with the supporting shipment details.
Documentation
Prepare consistent shipment information.
Provide an accurate invoice and packing list, commodity description, package dimensions, gross weight and consignee details. Clearly identify fragile, non-stackable or special cargo.
Keep names, quantities, weights, values and product descriptions consistent across the commercial documents. Tell us about changes before the shipment is booked.
Freight quotation
Understand what drives the cost.
LCL quotations can include origin handling, ocean freight, destination handling and delivery. Chargeable volume or weight and minimum charges depend on the service. Compare all components rather than a single per-CBM headline.
- Ask for the rate validity and cargo assumptions.
- Confirm origin, destination and final-delivery inclusions.
- Review potential storage, waiting or exception charges.

Scheduling
Plan around the complete journey.
Allow for cargo receiving, consolidation, ocean transit, deconsolidation, customs release and onward delivery. The complete door-to-door journey can differ substantially from the sailing duration.
Provide the cargo-ready date and the date the consignee needs the goods. Schedules and prices are confirmed for the specific booking.
Global markets
Europe, USA, Australia, New Zealand — and beyond.
United States
Ocean freight, air cargo, express and commercial delivery. Tell us the destination ZIP code, consignee type and whether delivery is to a warehouse, store or fulfillment center.
Europe & United Kingdom
Specify the destination country and postal code. The EU and UK are separate customs territories; the importer, tax responsibilities and delivery scope must be clear.
Australia
Plan commercial freight around the destination, packaging, commodity and receiving arrangements. Share wood-packaging and product details when requesting a quotation.
New Zealand
Compare ocean, air and express options for your shipment size and deadline. Product, packing and consignee details are reviewed before the route is confirmed.
Other global markets
SHOWLINK also handles worldwide logistics inquiries. Send the exact origin and destination so we can check available transport modes, local requirements and final delivery.
Before booking
Common questions, practical answers.
Is LCL always cheaper than FCL?
No. Destination costs, handling and shipment size can change the comparison. Ask for both options when the load is large enough to make the choice relevant.
Can different products travel together?
Cargo compatibility and acceptance must be checked. Share a complete product list, including any restricted or special-handling goods.
Why are destination charges important?
They form part of the total shipping cost and may be payable by a different party. Confirm them before booking.
